RYA Coastal Skipper Course Content
The RYA Coastal Skipper course is an advanced course. Building on previous experience you will learn to prepare and plan coastal passages and how to navigate at night and in restricted visibility. During your RYA Coastal Skipper course you will develop your boat handling skills under sail and engine with more challenging situations. Learn to handle a boat in adverse weather and how to recover a man over board under sail.
Joining your boat from our base in Hamble enjoy sailing in the sheltered waters of the Solent before planning and running a 60+ mile passage along the South Coast or across the Channel.
After your course
Gain the confidence and skills required to skipper a yacht by day and night and take on more challenging coastal passages.
Previous experience required 15 Days (2 days as skipper) 300 miles, 8 night hours. Navigation to Yachtmaster theory level

Included in the course
RYA accredited instructor, accommodation on board, gas, diesel, breakfast and lunch each day, 2 evening meals and mooring fees.
To enable you to fully enjoy the course you will require wet weather gear- a sleeping bag and pillow will also be required. Refer to our comprehensive kit list.
Meals ashore and mooring fees, which are split between the students, are not included. An RYA Log book is available for a nominal fee if required.
