Round The Island Race 2017
The 2017 Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight. It will take place on 1st July 2017.
We have put together a three-day package to include a training day, the 2017 Round the Island race and cruise back after the race.
The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world.
Competitors come from all over the UK to follow the 50 nautical mile course round the Isle of Wight.
Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, the fleet races West about to The Needles, round St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge Ledge buoy and back into the Solent to the finish line at Cowes.

Round the Island is great day on the water. As well as competing against Olympic, world-class and weekend sailors, there will be the opportunity to race against other Sigma 38’s in this one-design class – and the Sigma skippers are a competitive bunch.
We have set aside a training day to meet the crew, build the team and allow time to practice all important manoeuvres before heading over to Cowes.
Berthing in Cowes will allow you the opportunity to celebrate a successful days racing and swap stories with other sailors over drinks in the infamous Cowes Beer tent. If you have any energy left there will be many other activities and entertainment taking place in Cowes throughout the weekend.
