RYA Day Skipper Course Content
Put your theory into practice and learn to skipper a yacht in familiar waters by day. Learn to leave and return from your berth safely, anchoring, picking up a mooring buoy, recover a man over board, navigation, and safety on board a yacht. Hone your sailing skills, experience sailing at night and enjoy sailing to a different port each evening.
Join the boat on Monday morning meet your instructor and crew, after a safety briefing set off returning Friday afternoon.
The RYA Day Skipper course notes, is a useful book both during the course and as an aid memoir after your course, and can be purchased for £10 please let us know when you are booking. Please have a look at some other sailing booksyou might find useful. We also have a section on sail handling that contains some worksheets you might find useful.
After your course
You will be able to skipper a small yacht by day in familiar waters, gaining a recognised qualification allowing you to charter your own boat.
Previous experience required Basic sailing and theory knowledge to RYA Day Skipper Theory standard

Meals ashore and mooring fees, which are split between the students, are not included.
Included on course
RYA accredited instructor, accommodation on board, gas, diesel, breakfast and lunch each day, 1 evening meal, an RYA log book
To enable you to fully enjoy the course, you will require wet weather gear; a sleeping bag and pillow will also be required. Refer to our comprehensive kit list
